Baseball Recap: Truman Takes a Loss

Truman lost against Belton back in April of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Patriots fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 7-6. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Truman got a good showing from Cade Pleacher, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Pleacher has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Caden Deeney was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Brayden Branson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Truman's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Belton, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Looking ahead, Truman will take on Lee's Summit North at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots are facing the Broncos at the right time seeing as the Broncos are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Belton, they will venture away from home to challenge Warrensburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
