Baseball Recap: Glendale Prep Academy Continues Home Dominance on Friday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Glendale Prep Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Horizon Honors Eagles.

Eli Marsh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Glendale Prep Academy's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Rickey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Nathaniel Jensen was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Glendale Prep Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Horizon Honors, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-7-1.

Glendale Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Tombstone on the 10th. Horizon Honors does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
