Softball Recap: Fairbanks' Loss Ends 18-Game Winning Streak at Home

Fairbanks dropped their record down to 15-2 on Monday, which also ended the team's 18-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the West Jefferson Roughriders by a score of 2-1. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Macy Kise spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Fairbanks saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Dulle, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

As for West Jefferson, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games.

On West Jefferson's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Jenna Mannon gave up only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

While Fairbanks had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
