AA Region VIII recap October 22, 2013
Loris added to the longest winning streak in AA Region VIII this week by beating Mullins, 47-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Marion lost to Dillon 53-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Loris' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bennett Winslow threw for 191 and 3 touchdowns and Dezmond Dozier had 92 yards receiving. On the ground Charoldric Williams contributed 177 yards. Ryan Bellamy helped Loris' passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 50 yards.
He went 9-15 with 1 interception.
Williams was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 177 yards on 9 carries as Jamie Snider's team beat the Auctioneers. Stacy Dozier also contributed to the rushing game with 44 yards on the ground.
Loris' offense cannot be tamed this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Winslow has thrown for 1,035 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Bellamy has 22 catches for 347 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Loris takes on second place Dillon. Last week, the Lions bested Mullins, while the Wildcats beat the Swamp Foxes.

Leonard Johnson's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,746 from 10,902. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 53-0 victory over the Swamp Foxes last week.
