Waterford came tearing into Sunday's contest with 15 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Fitch Falcons. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Waterford's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Fitch, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Coming up, Waterford will host Norwich Free Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
