Volleyball Recap: Parkway Central Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Parkway Central had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against the Parkway West Longhorns by a score of 3-1. The Colts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Longhorns, too.

Parkway Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-18.

Gokul Baladhandauthabani was the offensive standout of the matchup as he had six digs and five aces. Those five aces gave him a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Parkway West lost, don't look at Jackson Lanfersieck. Despite the final result, he had 19 digs and three aces.

Parkway Central pushed their record up to 18-5-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. As for Parkway West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkway Central will head out to square off against St. Louis University at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Parkway West, they will venture away from home to face off against Lindbergh at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
