Baseball Recap: Homer Takes a Loss

After flying high against Addison on Monday, Homer came back down to earth. The Trojans took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Manchester Flying Dutchmen on Friday.

Xander Dubois was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Homer's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't).

Homer's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Manchester, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Coincidentally, Homer and Manchester will both be playing Grass Lake the next time they take the field. The Trojans will host the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Flying Dutchmen will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
