Basketball Recap: Blue Mountain Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Blue Mountain duked it out with Belmont on Monday. The Cougars were outmatched by the Cardinals and fell 79-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered since December 5, 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Blue Mountain and nudges their season record down to 3-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-2 Hatley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 75% over those games). As for Belmont, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Blue Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mantachie at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belmont, they and Hatley will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
