Basketball Recap: New Hartford Comes Up Short

New Hartford lost against Rome Free Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The New Hartford Spartans took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rome Free Academy Black Knights. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rome Free Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isabella Cunningham, who went 9 of 17 to rack up 24 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Cunningham a new career-high in points. Haylee Bostwick was another key player, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds.

New Hartford's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Rome Free Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Looking ahead, New Hartford will square off against Vernon-Verona-Sherrill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rome Free Academy, they will be playing at home against Central Valley Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
