Softball Recap: Trinity Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Trinity was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Delone Catholic last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Trinity fell just short of the Kennard-Dale Rams by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Shamrocks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Landry Murray was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

At the plate, Trinity saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bridget Schalk, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Schalk has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Anna Sheaffer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Trinity's defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2. As for Kennard-Dale, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity will square off against East Pennsboro at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Trinity their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Kennard-Dale, they will face off against Spring Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
