Baseball Game Preview: Scotts Valley Falcons vs. Aptos Mariners

For the second straight game, Scotts Valley will face off against Aptos. The Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Mariners at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Scotts Valley's offense. They fell just short of Aptos by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Kaleb Wing spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Aptos and bumps their season record up to 5-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Scotts Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
