Softball Recap: Orem Comes Up Short

After flying high against Timpview last Monday, Orem came back down to earth. Orem fell just short of the Timpanogos Timberwolves by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Andlie Allen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since March 3rd. Another player making a difference was Hannah Maylett, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Orem's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Timpanogos, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orem will venture away from home to square off against Wasatch at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wasatch has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.73 runs per game on average), something Orem will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Timpanogos, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain View at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Timpanogos is facing Mountain View at the right time seeing as Mountain View is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
