Nixa had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their defense stepped up to hand the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for Nixa, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

This is the second loss in a row for Springfield Catholic and nudges their season record down to 1-2-1.
