Softball Preview: Delhi Bears vs. St. Frederick Warriors
Delhi is 0-7 against St. Frederick since March of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Delhi Bears will head out on the road to challenge the St. Frederick Warriors at 5:00 p.m.
Delhi is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They lost 25-1 to Bastrop.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, St. Frederick made sure to put some runs up on the board against Glenbrook on Monday. St. Frederick's pitcher stepped up to hand Glenbrook a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Warriors have won eight matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Abigail Creighton made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, St. Frederick got a massive performance out of Kyndall Taylor, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Hannah Gammage was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
