Volleyball Game Preview: Benicia Panthers vs. Berean Christian Eagles

Benicia hasn't had much luck against Berean Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Benicia comes in on three and Berean Christian on seven.

Benicia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Quarry Lane 3-0.

While Benicia might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Quarry Lane scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Berean Christian posted their closest win since April 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past Alhambra 3-2.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (104-103) Berean Christian actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-23, 25-21, 22-25, 15-10.

Berean Christian pushed their record up to 14-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Benicia, the win got them back to even at 13-13.

Benicia came up short against Berean Christian in their previous meeting back in April, falling 3-1. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
