Basketball Recap: Sumner Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sumner can now relate to. They took a 53-38 bruising from Dexter on Wednesday. Sumner's loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Dexter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Doherty, who posted ten points along with seven boards and four blocks. What's more, Doherty also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Kody Kimball, who went 6-for-10 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Sumner's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Dexter, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Sumner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dexter, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-52 loss against Madawaska on the 17th.
