Recap: Prairie View Buffalos vs. Pleasanton Blu-Jays
The Prairie View Buffalos's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Pleasanton 41-39. This was payback for Prairie View, who suffered a 57-27 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Mario Davis and Tony Gillespie certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Davis scored 15 points along with 5 steals, while Gillespie scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The contest was Gillespie's third in a row with at least ten points.
The victory got Prairie View back to even at 1-1. As for Pleasanton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Prairie View will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Jayhawk Linn at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Jayhawk Linn is ranked 195th, while Prairie View is ranked 178th). As for Pleasanton, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Osawatomie at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Osawatomie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday.
