Baseball Recap: Newton-Conover Takes a Loss

If Newton-Conover was riding high fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Foard on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Devils fell 7-4 to the Hickory Red Tornadoes on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Red Tornadoes this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-2 loss back in March.

Newton-Conover's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Hickory, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Newton-Conover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hickory, they will be taking part in a tournament against Alexander Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Red Tornadoes surely won't give up without a fight.
