Soccer Recap: Greenville's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Greenville entered their tilt with Ridgeland on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Everything went their way against the Ridgeland Titans as they made off with a 6-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Ridgeland from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Willie Wilson led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Greenville pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Ridgeland, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Riverside at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Ridgeland will take on Madison Central in a holiday battle at at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
