Preview: Penns Manor Comets vs. Purchase Line Red Dragons
Penns Manor has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Purchase Line Red Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Penns Manor struggled with assists on Thursday (Marion Center had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Penns Manor took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marion Center.
Carter Smith put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 26 points. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Justin Vojtek was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Purchase Line, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 63-37 walloping at the hands of River Valley on Thursday. Purchase Line has struggled against River Valley recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Purchase Line's defeat came about despite a quality game from Jakob Mountain, who scored 14 points.
Penns Manor's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Purchase Line, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9.
Penns Manor didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Purchase Line in their previous matchup on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 49-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Penns Manor since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
