Softball Game Preview: Wagner Falcons vs. Bayside Commodores

The Wagner Falcons will challenge the Bayside Commodores at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Wagner sitting on three straight wins and Bayside on 13.

On Monday, Wagner made easy work of Grand Street Campus and carried off an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 12 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Bayside was able to grind out a solid win over Lane on Monday, taking the game 9-6.

Bayside pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Wagner, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

Wagner was able to grind out a solid win over Bayside when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
