Baseball Game Preview: Gonzaga Eagles vs. Archbishop Shaw Eagles

Gonzaga will head out to challenge Archbishop Shaw at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Gonzaga is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: St. John's, who was ranked eighth at the time (Gonzaga was ranked 12th). The Eagles never let the Cadets get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Shaw made easy work of Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy on Friday and carried off a 9-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Gonzaga's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Archbishop Shaw, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.
