Baseball Recap: East Lincoln Gets the Win

After only two runs in their last match, East Lincoln made sure to put some runs up on the board against St. Stephens on Tuesday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Indians by a score of 15-11. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Mustangs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The team relied heavily on Brandon Washington, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Phuntek, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

The victory made it two in a row for East Lincoln and bumps their season record up to 11-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for St. Stephens, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-4 record.

East Lincoln will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
