Baseball Game Preview: Warren Warriors vs. Sotomayor WILDCATS

The Warren Warriors will take on the Sotomayor WILDCATS at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Warren comes in on five and Sotomayor on three.

Warren's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past East Central 6-0.

Levi Hartley looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Warren let Joaquin Guerra and Jeremiah Casias run wild. Guerra scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Casias scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Sotomayor beat Taft 5-1 on Friday.

Sotomayor's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Evan Fine, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Wes Guardiola, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Sotomayor pushed their record up to 12-5-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Warren, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.

Warren came out on top in a nail-biter against Sotomayor in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the WILDCATS turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
