White extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 12-15-1. They put the hurt on the Adamson Leopards with a sharp 18-6 win. Considering the Longhorns have won 11 contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Aileen Hernadez made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, White got a massive performance out of TJ Alvarado, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Ilianna Garibaldi also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.
White hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matchups.
As for Adamson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly 12 runs.
On Adamson's side, Veronica Lopez and Liliy Beall Diaz did some serious damage despite the final result: Lopez went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Beall Diaz went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Emily Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Looking ahead, White will host Jefferson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Adamson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
