Volleyball Recap: St. John Bosco Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Jserra Catholic

St. John Bosco faced JSerra Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Braves took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 two weeks ago.

While St. John Bosco ultimately came up short, they really made JSerra Catholic work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 27-25, 26-28, 25-18.

Darren Chi had an outrageously good game for JSerra Catholic as he had 28 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Chi has posted since back in March of 2024.

St. John Bosco dropped their record down to 18-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for JSerra Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.

Looking ahead, St. John Bosco will take on Buchanan at 7:10 p.m. on Friday. JSerra Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
