Volleyball Game Preview: Center Grove Trojans vs. Avon Orioles

The Center Grove Trojans will square off against the Avon Orioles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Avon took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Center Grove, who comes in off a win.

Center Grove is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Hamilton Southeastern, who was ranked 13th at the time (Center Grove was ranked tenth). The Trojans came out on top against the Royals by a score of 2-0 on Saturday.

Center Grove found their leader in freshman Xavi Pineda, who had 20 digs and three assists.

Meanwhile, Avon lost 3-0 to Fishers on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Orioles in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-8, 25-9.

Avon's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Center Grove, their win bumped their record up to 20-8-1.

Center Grove took their victory against Avon when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Orioles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
