Davis and Layton are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Darts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lancers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Davis comes in on three and Layton on five.
Davis is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Syracuse on Friday as they made off with a 24-9 win. The result was nothing new for the Darts, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Dylan Manning looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Davis: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise.
At the plate, Briggs Taylor was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitch Ossmen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.
Davis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .553. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Layton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over Weber.
The team relied heavily on Jowell Dasni, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Zane Morgan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Davis' win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Layton, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Davis hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. However, it's not like Layton struggles in that department as they've averaged .343. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Davis came out on top in a nail-biter against Layton in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 7-6. Will the Darts repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
