Softball Recap: Corinth Holders Has No Trouble Against Garner

Corinth Holders made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Garner, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went the Corinth Holders Pirates' way against the Garner Trojans on Friday as the Corinth Holders Pirates made off with a 17-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pirates considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Mia Gwynn was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Megan Poole was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four RBI and one run.

Gwynn wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Corinth Holders kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Corinth Holders' win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Garner, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Corinth Holders will take on Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Cleveland 3, Corinth Holders 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Garner, they will face off against Clayton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garner has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
