Basketball Recap: Faith Christian's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of five wins, Faith Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 65-52 to the Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 68-65 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Faith Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isaiah Schuler, who posted 23 points along with seven boards and three steals. Schuler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Carson Bivins was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Even though they lost, Faith Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Arthur-Okaw Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Lee led the charge by going 7 of 13 on his way to 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That's the most points Lee has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Helmuth, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds.

Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Arthur-Okaw Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Faith Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 86-84 win against Galilean Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Arthur-Okaw Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-54 loss against Mid-Missouri HomeSchool on the 28th.
