Baseball Recap: Del Norte Beats Mckinleyville for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Del Norte proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the McKinleyville Panthers, sneaking past 3-1. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Panthers on their field since April 9, 2022.

The team relied heavily on Saxon Taylor, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Del Norte hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McKinleyville struck out nine times.

The win (which was Del Norte's sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for McKinleyville, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-3.
