Volleyball Recap: Breckenridge Cowboys vs. Detroit Lakes Lakers

If Breckenridge was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Pelican Rapids last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Breckenridge Cowboys took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Detroit Lakes Lakers on Thursday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Cowboys were not able to get on the board.

While Breckenridge was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20.

Leading Detroit Lakes to victory were Hailey Thielen and Madi Bjerke. Thielen had 11 digs, while Bjerke had ten digs. Thielen is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season.

Breckenridge's defeat dropped their record down to 22-4. As for Detroit Lakes, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season.

Breckenridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Detroit Lakes has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Sauk Centre on the 17th.
