Football Game Preview: Seminole Ridge Hawks vs. Central Cobras

The Seminole Ridge Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Central Cobras at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Seminole Ridge 2.6, Central 5.8) so any points scored will be well earned.

Central will be up against a hot Seminole Ridge squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Seminole Ridge walked away with an 18-7 win over Homestead on Friday. The 18-point effort marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Aubrey Fogel continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 233 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of her passes. Fogel is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: she's passed for at least three every time she's taken the field this season.

Seminole Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ja'Niah Tejeda and Olivia Agosto.

Meanwhile, Central never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat John Carroll Catholic 39-0. The result was nothing new for the Cobras, who have now won six games by 22 points or more so far this season.

Central's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Aiyana Grossman was especially locked on to John Carroll Catholic's QB and sacked her twice.

Central pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.5 points on average over those games. As for Seminole Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
