Soccer Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to the Mt. Pleasant Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 595th, while the Tigers are ranked 176th).

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Mt. Pleasant, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-1-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Jacksonville the next time they take the pitch. Mt. Pleasant will host Jacksonville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Marshall will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
