Softball Recap: Colusa Has No Trouble Against Pierce

Colusa won the last time they faced Pierce and things went their way on Tuesday too. The RedHawks put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 16-4 win. The RedHawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 contests by six runs or more this season.

Ava Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Elli Santana was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Braelyn Santana was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Colusa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pierce only managed six hits.

Colusa has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That lines up perfectly with their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pierce, they dropped their record down to 6-14 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Colusa will square off against Woodland Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pierce will be paying especially close attention to the RedHawks' game: after the RedHawks face off against the Cardinals, they'll take on Pierce again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
