Football Recap: Rochester's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Rochester had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They secured a 41-35 W over the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Rockets as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Rochester was led to victory by Kaiden Stout and Khordell Gregory. Stout gained 132 total yards and a touchdown, while Gregory rushed for 38 yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, Gregory racked up 25 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in August. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Khorbin Gregory, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Rochester, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Gregory, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Rochester didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nate Swaney and Khornell Gregory.

Rochester's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Coming up, Rochester will be playing at home against Breese Central at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rockets' defense better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 44.8 points per game this season. Sacred Heart-Griffin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
