Basketball Recap: Bryce Thompson Key Part of a Team Effort in Hornets Win

Deep Creek lost to Manor back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Deep Creek Hornets snuck past the Manor Mustangs with a 68-63 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Hornets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Deep Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryce Thompson led the charge by going 6 for 10 on his way to 17 points. Bradley Barham was another key player, going 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Deep Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory got Deep Creek back to even at 3-3. As for Manor, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Deep Creek will take on Nansemond River in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Deep Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.5 points per game this season. Manor has already played their next match, a 55-52 loss against Norview on the 18th.
