Baseball Recap: J.H. Rose Takes a Loss

J.H. Rose saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Abingdon Falcons by a score of 3-1.

Noah Sugg was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, J.H. Rose saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joyner Haddock, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Haddock has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

J.H. Rose's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Abingdon, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, J.H. Rose will take on First Colonial in a tournament on Monday. As for Abingdon, they will host Ridgeview at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
