Basketball Recap: Heritage Preparatory Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Heritage Preparatory can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Gatewood Gators and fell 88-56. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gatewood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Matt Allen out in front who went 12-for-22 en route to 28 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Allen has been hot for a while, having posted 18 or more points the last 52 times he's played. Jt Gregory was another key player, going 6-for-10 from beyond the arc to rack up 26 points.

Heritage Preparatory's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Gatewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Heritage Preparatory does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gatewood, they will take on Brentwood at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Gatewood's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 matches.
