Soccer Recap: Kearney Takes a Loss

If Kearney was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Winnetonka on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Ladue Horton Watkins Rams by a score of 3-2 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Kearney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Ladue Horton Watkins are ranked eighth).

Kearney's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Ladue Horton Watkins, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Looking ahead, Kearney will challenge Pembroke Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Pembroke Hill will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Kearney surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ladue Horton Watkins, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Notre Dame de Sion on the 3rd.
