St. Joseph's Academy posted their closest win since September 13th on Monday. They skirted past the Incarnate Word Academy Red Knights 3-2. For the Angels, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Red Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

St. Joseph's Academy was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (113-100), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 14-25, 14-25, 29-27, 15-10.

Their offense was headlined by Kathryn Teepe and Remy Stack, who picked up 15 kills apiece. They got some help from Ashley Eveler and her 42 assists. Stack and Eveler didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Despite the defeat, Incarnate Word Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kendall Stroer had 19 digs. Those 19 digs set a new season-high mark for Stroer. Another player making a difference was Abbi Koelling, who had nine digs and two aces.

St. Joseph's Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8-1 record this season. As for Incarnate Word Academy, their loss ended a six-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-7.

St. Joseph's Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Lutheran on the 30th. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Eureka on the 30th.
