Basketball Game Preview: Manhattan Indians vs. Maize Eagles + How To Watch

Having just played yesterday, the Manhattan Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Maize Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Manhattan has given up an average of 55.5 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Manhattan easily dispatched Great Bend on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Indians fell just short of Emporia by a score of 73-70 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Maize faced Maize South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles received a blow as they fell 53-37 to the Mavericks.

Manhattan's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-4. As for Maize, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 12-4.

Manhattan suffered a grim 62-40 defeat to Maize in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
