The Quakers came out on top against the Skippers by a score of 11-7 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Quakers in their matchups with the Skippers: they've now won seven in a row.
Moses Brown got a massive performance out of Abby DeWolf, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave DeWolf a new career-high. Coco Medeiros was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Moses Brown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, La Salle Academy strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Cranston West as they made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Rams have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Gia DeNinno spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Alivia Ring was a standout: she fired off two home runs and three runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Samantha Sell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.
La Salle Academy pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Moses Brown, their record now sits at 3-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Moses Brown hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like La Salle Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Moses Brown couldn't quite finish off La Salle Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Quakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
