Sheridan and Guerin Catholic are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Blackhawks will venture away from home to square off against the Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Sheridan has given up an average of 14.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sheridan couldn't beat Clinton Central on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Blackhawks lost 17-5 to the Bulldogs. The Blackhawks haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Lainey Mendenhall was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Guerin Catholic came up short against Carmel on Friday, falling 18-2. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kate Brady made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

Sheridan's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Guerin Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sheridan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373. However, it's not like Guerin Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .334. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Sheridan beat Guerin Catholic 14-9 in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blackhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
