Baseball Recap: Alexandria-Monroe's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Alexandria-Monroe dropped their record down to 9-3 on Saturday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Delta Eagles, falling 12-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 6-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Alexandria-Monroe saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landyn Fletcher, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Delta, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

On Delta's side, Cale Taylor looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

On the hitting side, Chase Ritchie was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ryan Neal also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Looking ahead, Alexandria-Monroe will be playing in front of their home fans against Tipton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Delta, they will head out to square off against Yorktown at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
