Basketball Game Preview: Overton Bobcats vs. Valor College Prep Wildcats + How To Watch

Overton has gone a perfect 3-0 against Valor College Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Overton challenged Maplewood on Thursday. The Bobcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Panthers 51-49.

Overton can attribute much of their success to Kemontez Holman, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 21 points, and William Livingston, who posted 12 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Those 21 points gave Holman a new career-high. Terry Slater Jr was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Valor College Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Mount Juliet Christian Academy 67-44 on Tuesday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The victory got Overton back to even at 1-1. As for Valor College Prep, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Overton beat Valor College Prep 60-47 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
