Softball Recap: Emerson Comes Up Short

After flying high against Heritage last Wednesday, Emerson came back down to earth. The Emerson Mavericks came up short against the Wakeland Wolverines on Saturday, falling 15-5.

Amilee Stapp made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Lauren Short also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Emerson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Wakeland, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Emerson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 victory against Frisco on the 4th. As for Wakeland, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-7 loss against Reedy on the 4th.
