Football Recap: Willow Glen Gets the Win

Willow Glen proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 45) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They slipped by the Christopher Cougars 21-20.

Aiden Akery was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 86 yards and one TD, and also threw for 103 yards on 13 of 21 attempts. Zackary Papedis was in the mix as well, providing Willow Glen with one touchdown.

Willow Glen didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Christopher to a completion percentage of just 50%. The Rams weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 61.9%.

The victory got Willow Glen back to even at 2-2. As for Christopher, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Coincidentally, Willow Glen and Christopher will both be playing Overfelt the next time they take the field. The Cougars will host the Royals at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rams will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on October 3.
