Softball Recap: Mission Valley Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Mission Valley won the last time they faced West Franklin and things went their way on Thursday too. The Vikings walked away with an 18-14 win over the Falcons. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly four runs.

Mission Valley got a massive performance out of Kyplee Jacobson, who went 5-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those five hits gave Jacobson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adaline Bloomfield, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Mission Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Franklin only posted a batting average of .355.

Mission Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for West Franklin, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Mission Valley and West Franklin will both be playing Osage City the next time they take the field. The Vikings will host the Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Falcons will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on May 8.
