Basketball Game Preview: Stanton Buffaloes vs. Coahoma Bulldogs

Stanton is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Coahoma is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Stanton Buffaloes will welcome the Coahoma Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both are at an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but likely not for long.

Last Friday, Stanton didn't have too much trouble with Lamesa as they won 45-27. Given the Buffaloes' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 896th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Coahoma made off with a 41-40 victory over Jayton.

Coahoma's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Stanton, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.

Stanton beat Coahoma 47-39 when the teams last played back in January of 2022. Will Stanton repeat their success, or does Coahoma have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
